A Report On: Findings on national and cable TV Vs Satellite TV

National and cable TV is originally called CATV or Community antenna television. It is also a video delivery service provided by a cable operator to subscriber via coaxial cable or fiber optics programming delivered without a wire via satellite or other facilities is not “Cable Television”. Cable television system operators located antennas in areas with good reception, picked up broad cast station signals and then distributed them by coaxial cable to subscribe for a fee.                                                                                                          Fig 1. It was developed in the late 1940’s  for communities unable to receive TV signals because of terrain or distance from TV stations. In 1950’ cable systems operated in only to communities in the united states . these system are operating in every state of united states and in many other countries and also throughout Europe, and much of east Asia channel capacity in the industry has increased dramatically in recent years, most cable subscribers now receive service in access of 100 channels. On average cable systems offer about 80 expanded basic service channels as well as more then 50 digital channels.

Cable systems offer a wide variety of programming networks including for example, news weather, business information , movie, Sports, General and special entertainment services and programming designed for specific audience such as children, women and ethic and racial groups. Cable systems also offer programming on an on demand and pay - per - view basic, and increasingly are allowing their subscribers to access programming on mobile devices.

Many areas only have a single cable television provider, and this creates a monopoly. While the competition from satellite is increasing, the corporate culture of these monopolies is especially poor. Customer service can be terrible, if not non-existent in many cases, and consumer satisfaction with cable TV companies is consistently some of the worst among any companies in the United States. Many cable companies are very confusing when it comes to how much their service will actually cost in the long run. Many require you to sign up for two years in order to get a one-year introductory deal. However, you have to really dig on their websites to find out how much the second year will cost. In other cases, there are hidden fees, rental charges and taxes.

Satellite TV is a system of delivering television programming using signals relayed from communication satellites. It has got a top quality sound show. Satellite TV transmits high-quality digital data. Satellite TV companies acquire their line-up of displays from both turnaround channels like CNN, ESPN and HBO in addition to from numerous regional channels like CBS, ABC, FOX, NBC and PBS. The capability to deliver and receive broadcast indicators using satellite technology advances the probabilities of gaining use of channels from other countries that use similar technology. 

Satellite TV was first considered as home entertainment only in certain cities. However, with the advanced technology of satellite TV, you are able to get the great programming selection and quality reception provided by the satellite TV, irrespective of your place of residence. Rapid growth of internet services has also played its role, up to certain extent, in reducing the satellite TV charges. The satellite TV industry has become highly competitive and companies are willing to offer you free equipment with low introductory rates. However both the cable TV and satellite are more or less advantageous. It also depends on personal how they access with these networks. As cable TV also offers a variety of programming networks like, News, Weather, business information, movies, sports etc.. in different channels, whereas satellite TV is highly enhanced and acquires a programs from both turnaround channels like CNN, ESPN and HBO in addition which are highly propounded in modern era. Satellite TV is precisely more technical where we can also watch two channels in one time. Infact, this facility is not available on cable TV.

Practically, cable TV was first exist in world. System wise it has been serving approximately in all states of world where has satellite TV hasn’t been more renowned in the world but they are used in more advanced way. It is more expensive then cable TV also, people to use satellite TV due to its entertaining and advanced technology. Satellite TV transmits high quality digital data with use of MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 compression. As satellite TV is improving ever since, we prefer to use satellite TV.
